Celebrate Youth Art Month with Pickens Arts and Cultural Alliance!

Join us in March for a celebration of the visual arts! The Council for Art Education (CFAE) proudly administers Youth Art Month, which encourages support for quality school art programs and promotes art material safety. Youth Art Month is a unique opportunity to recognize skills developed through visual arts experiences, including problem-solving, creativity, observation, and communication.

Event Details:

• Dates: March 20-21, 2025
• Time: 4-8pm
• Location: Pickens County Recreation Center | 1329 Camp Road Jasper GA 30143
• Grades: Kindergarten – 12th

Youth Art Month Gallery:

• All student artists are invited to participate and showcase their work.
• Teachers will select and display artwork based on merit and can email us at team@pickensartsandculturalalliance.com. Home-schooled students or those not recommended by teachers can submit their work through our submission form.
• Set up begins on Wednesday, March 19, from 2-6pm and continues through Thursday until one hour before the event.
• The gallery will be open to the public on Thursday, March 20, and Friday, March 21, from 4-8pm, with judging taking place on Friday.
• Refreshments will be served on Friday between 4-5pm.

Awards:

• Teachers: $250 grant for classroom use, plus $250 for personal use.
• High School Students: Prizes include $100, $150, and $200.
• Junior High Students: Prizes include $150 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place, and $50 for 3rd place.

Directions for Teachers and Student Participants:

• Teachers will choose artwork to display from their students based on merit.
• Home-schooled students or those not recommended by teachers can submit a submission form or email team@pickensartsandculturalalliance.com.

Setup Information:

• Setup will begin on Wednesday, March 19, from 2-6pm and will continue through Thursday until one hour before the event.
• The gallery will be open to the public from 4-8pm on Thursday, March 20, and Friday, March 21, with judging commencing on Friday.
• Refreshments will be served on Friday between 4-5pm.
